Charles Calello
Oh What A Night!
In 1958, Frankie Valli walked into a nightclub in Newark, New Jersey, and was completely blown away by a band of young musicians performing live. Already with a hit of his own, Valley new what he was listening to was special and asked who wrote the band’s arrangements. He was introduced to Charles Calello, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Five decades later, Charles has recorded more top 10 hits* than any other arranger, 15 of which have been nominated for Grammy Awards. With a discography that includes over 100 q”Billboard” chart records, Calello is regarded as one of the greatest arrangers of our time. Some of the biggest entertainers of the 20th century, including Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand, Neil diamond, and Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, have relied on Calello’s musical genius.
Calello’s work with the four seasons in the early 60s helps bond chain of it records that catapulted the group to start them and created a sound that is still unique today. In 1965/1966, low actually replaced Nick Massey and toured with the four seasons, but throughout that period, he also arranged and produced several other hit records which include “The Name Game” with Shirley Ellis “Blue Navy Blue” with Diane Rainey “A Lover’s Concerto” with The Toys and “Lightning Strikes” with Lou Christie.
In late 1966, Calello was ready for a change and accepted a position with Columbia Records as a staff arranger/producer. Two years later he left Columbia and settled comfortably into a career as an independent arranger, producer and composer. For the next 25 years, working between New York and California, Calello’s talent continued to produce top 10 hits and earned him international acclaim.
In 1992 he relocated to Florida and became an arranger and assistant conductor for the Florida symphonic Pops, and Boca Raton. On October 20, 2000, he was honored for his talent and artistic contribution to the music industry with an introduction to the vocal group Hall of Fame as one of The Four Seasons.
Today, Calello’s talent continues to flourish with numerous recording projects, guest appearances with the sunshine pops, and live concert performances of the show entitled “The Hit Man.” He also tours with Ronnie Millsap, conducting his life symphonic concerts. Calello’s most recent recordings include Engelbert Humperdinck’s single, “Endlessly” soon to be released in Europe, Deanna Martins new CD “Volare,” a European release with brilliant singer-songwriter Tomey Sellars, entitled “The Other Side of Love ,” Frankie Valli’s “Romancing the 60’s” CD, “Live the Dream” debut CD for Kelly King, a talented young artist with a 5 1/2 octave voice, and new studio CD with international recording artist Sean Rae.
When asked if he’s thinking about retirement, Calello response without hesitation:” a lot of people tell me that the records I make are some of the greatest records they’ve ever heard, but honestly I never looked at my career like that. I just did what I did because I loved. It brings me a tremendous amount of joy. And it is for that reason, I will never give up.”

A Perfect Evening With Erich Bergen
Erich Bergen doesn’t sing or dance on the CBS television series Madam Secretary, but he has an incredible bari-tenor voice and moves that light up the stage, so it is fair to say that the series is missing some bonus material. Not to mention the fact that Erich is a phenomenal piano player and his self deprecating humor and good looks make him more than charming.
Erich starred in a company of Jersey Boys, playing the part of Bob Gaudio who told director Clint Eastwood who was casting the Movie Jersey Boys that”Erich Bergen is the one”! Erich has said that Clint Eastwood taking the chance and casting him in the blockbuster film changed his life.
Backed by his music director, Michael Orland, and six top-notch musicians, his joyous 90-minute set will include stories from his incredibly interesting life, music you know and love and you will laugh. Erich knows how to tell a joke.
His obviouos acting talents are there for all to see on CBS, but his amazing voice and dry wit will surprise you. If you thought you know Blake Morane, “You ain’t seen nothing yet.” Erich has it all.
